EAL and Learning Support
Supporting Every Learner
At Cheltenham Muscat, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil can thrive, regardless of their language background or learning needs. Through our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme and Learning Support Department, we provide tailored assistance to help pupils fully access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
English as an Additional Language
As an international school, we recognise that many of our pupils are learning in a non-native language. To support their development, we offer comprehensive EAL programmes, designed to help students build confidence and fluency in English.
Our EAL provision includes group sessions, one-to-one tuition, and access to additional resources, including online activities and mentoring. Pupils receiving EAL support are regularly assessed, ensuring their progress is closely monitored and interventions are adjusted to meet their evolving needs.
EAL support may be identified at the time of admission or as a child progresses through the school. Additional charges apply for specialist EAL tuition, reflecting the individualised nature of the programme.
Learning Support
We are proud to offer a dedicated Learning Support Department, ensuring that pupils with mild to moderate Special Educational Needs (SEN) receive the guidance and support they need to succeed. Every child requiring learning support has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), which outlines specific strategies to help them access the curriculum.
Our specialist staff work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that IEPs are fully integrated into lesson planning, allowing for a seamless learning experience. For pupils who require additional support, individual or small group lessons are available, offering a focused environment where they can build their skills and confidence.
At Cheltenham Muscat, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish. Through expert guidance, personalised support, and a nurturing environment, we help all our pupils become confident, independent learners.
